Follow the foundation building day by day

Peikko Group's foundation solution has been chosen for a wind turbine park to be built in Hamina, Finland. Peikko has made a contract with Empower Oy (main contractor) to design the foundation structures and to deliver the anchoring technology for the wind turbine towers.

The foundation utilizes a foundation concept developed by Peikko, including also post-tensioning technology. Peikko's FatBar solution (anchoring and post-tensioning system) has an European Technical Approval (ETA). The planning of the foundation solution has been developed in close cooperation between Peikko, Empower and Hyundai Heavy Industries (turbine manufacturer).

Below you can follow the building of the foundation in Hamina and see the work progressing day by day. We have a camera on the site and photos are updated daily of the progress of the construction.

The work on the site has started in week 34. The foundation will be ready in early November 2011. The tower erection will take place during spring 2012.
