REGISTRATION

How do I register for the Peikko Conference 2022?

You are automatically registered to event by us. However, please submit the registration form on invitation in order to give us all relevant information to help us in arrangements.

How do I collect conference badge (ID Card)?

Get your conference badge at your hotel reception while checking in to hotel at hotel Seurahuone or hotel Scandic Lahti City. For others, we deliver badges at Sibelius Hall Tuesday 21.6. at 8:00 - 8:30 in reception desk located in Forest Hall (entering the venue from cloak room). For participants of Management Meeting ID-cards are delivered personally on Monday morning prior to meeting.

Please wear your badge during the conference program.

ACCOMMODATION

Where should I book accommodation for the conference?

We take care of this for you. No actions needed.

We have reserved rooms for us from the main hotels in Lahti: Sokos Hotel Seurahuone and Scandic Lahti City. See your accommodation here.

People departing in Thursday early morning accommodation in airport hotel Scandic Helsinki Airport is arranged.

How do act with late check-ins and check-outs?

In principle, we inform hotels for late arriving times in advance. Please, discuss with hotels for other special arrangements such as late check-outs if needed while checking in to hotels. Hotels are informed our schedules for transportation to/from airport.

TRANSPORTATION

How far is it from the hotels to the conference venue?

It is a short 10 to 15-minute walk from the hotels to the venue. However, we have reserved shuttle buses for us to go to the venue. Check the schedule from this link.

From where does shuttle buses operate?

Shuttle buses leaves to Sibelius Hall and Peikko Excursion only in front of hotel Seurahuone in order to keep up the schedule. It is two minutes walk from Scandic Lahti City to hotel Seurahuone.

Shuttle bus stop at Sibelius Hall is just next to the main Entrance. Shuttle buses operates non-stop at the end of conference days and drop people on the way at both hotels Scandic Lahti City and Seurahuone.

What does transportation Group A and B mean?

In order to keep transportation fluent and get everyone in right place in right time, people are divided into two transportation groups (Group A, Group B) for morning shuttles. You find schedule from your ID-card pocket, at conference web page and hotels as well.

What are my options for traveling to Lahti from Helsinki Airport?

We will arrange a charter bus for most of us arriving in Helsinki Airport. If this is not reasonable due to unusual arrival time for instance, we will help you in arrangements.

Please check your transporation in advance. For some, getting to Lahti may require some extra minutes spent in Helsinki Airport.

Ride to airport from Lahti on Wednesday 22.6. and Thursday 23.6. is arranged as well according to your flight details. For few participants arrangements with Scandic Airport Helsinki are made and informed by Päivi Hurri.

For others, we recommend to use Finnish Railways train that operates directly b/w Lahti Railway station and Helsinki Aiport (includes one train change). Get more information from vr.fi

Lahti Railway Station is located in the city centre, just 5-10 minutes walk to both hotels.

What to do if my flight is delayed, re-scheduled or other changes occur?

It’s important to inform all significant changes on your travel plans to as soon as you know the change in order to communicate changes to bus operators, hotels etc. Please, contact Päivi Hurri, +358 40 712 3419, [email protected]

Parking at Sibelius Hall?

For people arriving to conference by cars, please note that there is no free parking at Sibelius Hall (Ankkurikatu 7). The main parking area is located next to main entrance. Remember to pay your parking at payment machine by parking lot or by ParkMan or EasyPark apps.

What equipment do I need with me for the conference program?

Just bring in with you essential equipment for meetings and travelling.

Couple of remarks however. We are going outdoor during Peikko Activity (on Tue). Comfortable clothing according to weather conditions. In case of rain, we have umbrellas available.

Dress code for the event days is smart casual, Peikko Dinner on Tuesday is business casual.

Peikko Activity on program on Tuesday 21.6. at 15:30. What is this?

We get out to feel the Finnish summer with team activities. While registering into event, you were able to choose your preferences from the following activities:

  2. Kickbiking
  3. Body & Mind Session
  4. Nordic Pole Walking in Lahti Sports Centre
  5. Worm Fishing at Lake Vesijärvi
  6. Finnish Games Session (Mölkky)

Practical information for team activities:

  • There will be meeting points appointed for all groups in Sibelius Hall. Follow digital signboards to find your meeting point as follows: Group 1 (Culture Walk) by main entrance, Group 2 (Kickbiking) by stage, Group 3 (Body&Mind) by exhibition area, Group 4 (Nordic Pole Walking) by lounge/sofas, Group 5 (Worm Fishing) by cloak room, Group 6 (Finnish Games Session: Mölkky) by exit doors to harbour at Forest Hall.
  • If you wish to change clothes for activity you may leave your bag at cloak room in the morning. There are rooms dedicated for clothes changing: Carpenter’s Workshop for ladies and Carpenter’s Hall for men.
  • You may leave your meeting accessories, such as laptops to your vertical meeting rooms during team activity. There will be security on site during conference days.

What is Peikko Tour?

Peikko Tour is an optional visit to Peikko headquarter and production facilities at Voimakatu. Tour is organized for registered participants. See participant lists from this link. Transportation is arranged from hotel Seurahuone to Peikko and back for Monday’s Peikko Tour (20.6. at 16-18). For Wednesday 22.6. Peikko Tour transportation is arranged from hotel Seurahuone to Peikko Headquarter and from Peikko Headquarter directly to Sibelius Hall for Wednesday opening sessiona at 10:00.

Sibelius Hall, Lahti

Sibelius Hall is located by the beautiful Lake Vesijärvi. Sibelius Hall is a congress and concert center that offers diverse services for both consumers and companies. Sibelius Hall was built in 2000 adjacent to an old factory building. The modern wooden architecture is combined with the old industrial history in the most interesting way.

Restaurant Kuja

Street food with a local Lahti twist by the main street Aleksanterinkatu in Lahti. Kuja Street Food Lahti is a unique restaurant where you can enjoy not only the delicious street food but also the graffiti art work with Lahti theme on the walls.

Lahti Ski Stadium / Ski Museum

Lahti classic. Internationally known Lahti Sports Centre with ski and ski jumping stadium is a place we visit on Wednesday.

The Ski Museum tells the story of the Lahti Ski Games and the Nordic World Ski Championships held in Lahti from the 1920s to the present day, through interesting exhibitions on the history of ski sports.
