Even if Peikko had implemented strict corona guidelines and precautionary measures in all of its units, unfortunately, COVID-19 has spread to Peikko’s factory in Romania. This week, 19 of our 77 employees working at Peikko Romania have received a positive COVID-19 test result.
Our top priority is to ensure that all our Romanian employees are taken good care for. To reduce the risk that anyone might inadvertently spread the virus, we took the immediate decision to temporarily close the factory. An extraordinary disinfection was performed in production and office premises, and new preventive health measures were taken in use. Peikko also cooperates closely with Romanian health authorities on the case.
The second most important matter is to ensure that this situation does not affect our customers in Central Europe where Peikko Romania serves them by manufacturing DELTABEAM® composite beams. Peikko is currently transferring part of the Romanian production load to other Peikko factories in Slovakia, Lithuania, Russia, and Finland where it also manufactures DELTABEAM® composite beams.
