Peikko Group Corporation’s Finnish subsidiary Peikko Finland Oy has received a substantial composite structure order to the first phase of the new office and retail center adjacent to the Tikkurila railway station in Vantaa, Finland. 2.6 kilometers of Deltabeams and 260 tons of steel structures, mainly composite columns, will be delivered to the site during late spring 2013. The developer of the project is YIT Rakennus Oy and the architect is Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects. Finnmap Consulting Oy is responsible for the structural design of the project.
The train station office and retail center is a versatile complex that will comprise public transportation premises, offices, retail stores and parking spaces. The entire space of the complex is 56.300 m² of which the first phase accounts for 33.200 m². The first phase is a 12-storey building housing retail stores and offices and it will be finished in late 2014.
Peikko’s composite frame concept is a flexible and fast solution – it is a cost effective way of constructing the building frame which enables easy layout changes of the premises during their entire life-cycle. These benefits are especially important in the retail and office sector for both the developer and the end users.” states Mikko Kuusilehto, Managing Director of Peikko Finland Oy.
