Last year we were introducing a few of our Engineers, representing various Peikko Units. And this year we want to focus on our production people – the hands, which make Peikko products and carry the final responsibility for making our Customers happy with our quality.
We will be introducing people from different Peikko Production Units and in this article please meet Xiaosong Qi and Zhiping Chen from Peikko China.
XIAOSONG QI, PRODUCTION FOREMAN
When did you start in Peikko and what is your job in Peikko about?
I joined Peikko in July 2015. As production foreman, my job responsibility is to manage production activity to ensure production timeliness and volume according to production plan and the requirements of process and orders, complete daily production report, supervise staff to implement process requirements, complete the "6S" management. I am also responsible for the operation skills training for new employees, production line safety management to prevent personal accident and equipment fire etc.
What is going well in your team that you would like to mention?
Employees are partners in the team, everyone is valuable and have their own strengths. Maintaining good and smooth communication, and helping employees to grow their ability, will facilitate to improve work efficiency and achieve work goals. We are a good team. I am happy when working with my teammates. I will continue to support them as much as I can.
What are you most proud or happy related to your job at the moment?
There is no distinction between noble and low jobs. First of all, I am interested in this job, and I can meet many new colleagues and learn new things. At the same time, I have the opportunity to have difficult work tasks to broaden my job horizon.
What was the biggest challenge in your Peikko work so far and how did you solve it?
Company's products are very diverse. Sometimes products are finished by multiple processes. Different employees are in charge of different processes. This requires the appropriate training to the specific jobs. So, what I need to do is to communicate with my teammates in advance and get to know their willingness to learn and then arrange relevant job training for them. Communication in advance helps to avoid disagreement when assigning work tasks. It's also helpful to overcome difficulty together.
What are your biggest interests outside working life?
I will have a good rest after work, and then do some favorite things with my family, such as walking, traveling, having dinner with my friends, and going to the movies. The most relaxing thing is to play sports with my colleagues. Table tennis is my favorite. I like the excitement of spiking the ball, which brings pleasure to my life.
ZHIPING CHEN, PLASMA OPERATOR
When did you start in Peikko and What is your job in Peikko about?
My name is Zhiping Chen. I joined Peikko China on July 25, 2015, and I am responsible for operating plasma machine including programming and flame cutting. The main work content is to produce products that meet the company's quality requirements according to the company's process, carry out daily maintenance, and maintenance of production equipment, participate in the company's safety management, maintain the company's 6S and create a safe and comfortable working environment.
What do you like most about your job?
Plasma flame cutting is the earliest preparatory work for project products. Each time I cut out the ideal parts by my professional skill, I can get the praise from my colleagues. This is the greatest encouragement and recognition for my hard work. Every time through my own efforts, I improve my cutting technology better. It is also a way to prove my competency! This is what I like most about my job.
What is going well in your team that you would like to mention?
We belong to cutting team. There are four teammates including three dayshifts and one nightshift. By cooperation, communication and technical discussion with each other, we do our work very smoothly according to the production plan every day. We will make more efforts to improve work efficiency and save more raw materials for our company.
What are you most proud or happy related to your job at the moment?
Do the work I love. This makes me happy! Plasma cutting is my favorite job. By upgrading my operation skill, doing strict quality control and improving work efficiency, I try my best to help company to finish production order and achieve production target.
What are your biggest interests outside working life?
Football is my favorite hobby outside my working life. Football gives me happiness and confidence! Playing football makes me feel relaxed out of work and experience the joy of sports. Peikko company often organizes football, badminton, basketball friendly matches. It's really a good experience to have those colorful activities. It not only exercises our bodies, but also makes our teamwork closer. I really love those sports.
