Meet Peikko Production People - Peikko Slovakia

Last year we were introducing a few of our Engineers, representing various Peikko Units. And this year we want to focus on our production people – the hands, which make Peikko products and carry the final responsibility for making our Customers happy with our quality.

We will be introducing people from different Peikko Production Units and in this article please meet Tibor Botka and Jozef Takács from Peikko Slovakia, who both started in Peikko on exactly the same day 13 years ago!

TIBOR BOTKA, PRODUCTION FOREMAN

When did you start in Peikko and what is your job in Peikko about?

I joined Peikko Slovakia on July 1, 2008 as a welder and spent nice 10 years in this position. Then the quality department asked me to accept the position of Quality Inspector. I agreed after a long hesitation. I did this for about 2 years, when the offer for a production foreman came, which I have been doing for 2 years now.

What do you like about your job?

These changes and challenges have created  much more interesting workplace for me, also taking into account the fact that I can see and participate in the backstage of production and I do not perceive the production monochrome.

What is your team like?

The team is made up of a lot of people where interaction, understanding and responsibility must be synchronized.

What was the hardest thing you had encountered over the years and how did you deal with it?

Over the years, I have gone through number of different obstacles, easier or harder, but when the problem is well communicated within the team, everything is manageable. It is not a shame to accept  advice and understand, that you are  not the center of the universe. I try to take things with a certain reserve and humor, otherwise it will engulf me and may be at the expense of something that you can regret later.

What are your biggest interests outside working life?

Since I live in a village, there is always a lot of work around the house. If circumstances allow, we travel around Slovakia. I also play an online game of the MMORPG genre - World of Tanks with colleagues from work.

JOZEF TAKÁCS – PRODUCTION FOREMAN

When did you start in Peikko and what is your job in Peikko about?

I started working in Peikko on July 1, 2008 as a rotator welder. I switched several workplaces, but my priority was always welding. I am now a production foreman and I really like my job and take it with high level of responsibility. Anyway, there were difficult times, but this is also work life.

What do you like about your job?

I always preffer bigger and more complex projects, where 100 % performance is expected. People around me, my colleagues and teammates are very important for me, we have good times together.

What is your team like?

Every person, as well as the teammate, is different and special. Although I became a production foreman not so long ago, I dare to say that I have a great team and every problem can always be solved. There are also difficult days and sometimes we can´t do without an argument, but in the end we always achieve happy ending.

What are your biggest interests outside working life?

Currently I stay at work a lot, there is plenty to do nowadays. I really liked to go to the gym until our son was born, but now he is the whole world to us. It's an unbelievable feeling. He is 3 years and 2 months old and is unstoppable!
