Why have you chosen to study civil engineering?
Several factors contributed to this choice. Most of all, I always like solving technical tasks. I chose civil engineering studies because I have always been impressed with building structures and wanted to learn how to do it. But to be honest, I am interested in more technical fields. I just like engineering challenges.
When did you start in Peikko and what is your job in Peikko about?
I joined Peikko in January 2019 as a Sales Engineer. Before Peikko, I worked as structural engineer for more than 4 years and a teacher at the Technical University for a while. I also have a certificate of structural engineer which is important in my job. I combine my sales duties with design in everyday work and my structural knowledge and experience are very helpful.
What do you like most about your job?
Most of all cooperation with people in the whole world and the positive team spirit. I like technical challenges and learning new things. On the other hand, I really like to work with people and be a support and a business partner for them. If you asked me what I like more: sales job or designing, I would say that I can combine these two in one in Peikko and that is great for me.
What projects that you did in Peikko are you most proud of?
I am only two years in Polish Peikko Unit, but for this time I was involved in several projects already. Each project was interesting and important for me. If I had to choose only one of them I would mention the Project for one local company. It was a small building, and it was their first project with Peikko solutions. I name this project because of two reasons: 1) it doesn't matter how big project is, each Customer is important for me; 2) in this project I was from the first till the last project stage. And now, we're delivering DELTABEAM® Composite Beams for that customer. It is great to see the customer appreciating the benefits of a Peikko solution on their first project.
What are your biggest interests outside working life?
I like traveling and photography. You can see photos from my previous travels. I cannot wait for the pandemic to end, to resume exploring the world. I choose a bicycle instead of a car for work. Physical activity is important to me. I even take my running shoes on vacation or on a business trip.
