Peikko supports record-breaking logistics investment in Poland
In 2025, Peikko took part in one of the largest industrial investments in Poland — the construction of a distribution center with supporting technical infrastructure in Central Poland. The investor commissioned a facility totaling 224,000 m², divided between two main buildings. One has a built-up area of 64,000 m² and a height of 25 m, while the other spans 160,000 m² with a 12 m height and an additional 40,000 m² mezzanine.
Peikko delivered more than 15,000 HELKA® and BOLDA® bolted column connections, achieving record delivery pace while ensuring uncompromised quality and timeliness.
Scale and impact for the region
The distribution center is part of the operations of a large fashion company, operating over 2,800 locations in Europe with 2.5 million m² of retail space. This investment is significant for the region, with the planned employment of around 1,500 people. Advanced automated transport and storage technologies create demand for specialized and highly skilled maintenance services, boosting local development.
“Although the entire production was carried out in one of our factories, a key factor in building trust was knowing that Peikko has several factories in Europe. There is always a risk that something might not go as planned – we minimize those risks,” explained Piotr Dudka, Sales Manager at Peikko Poland.
Selecting trusted partners
The investor entrusted implementation to Dekpol Budownictwo, part of the Dekpol Capital Group, one of Poland’s leading construction companies. COO and Board Member of Dekpol Budownictwo, Piotr Skoraczewski, highlighted the importance of careful partner selection: “The selection of entities participating in such a large-scale project with extremely short deadlines required thorough assessment of potential partners, their competencies, and proven capabilities through numerous reference projects.”
Fast construction with proven solutions
A key design assumption was the use of solutions enabling fast, high-quality construction. As Tomasz Grudzień, Manager of the Structural Design and Development Department at Dekpol, noted: “From the very beginning, there was no doubt about the necessity of using Peikko connections, whose application proved that constructing an investment with nearly 270,000 m² of usable area in just 12 months is possible.”
The HELKA® Column Shoes, newly introduced at the time of design, offered the same load capacity as HPKM® Column Shoes but with lighter weight — an important factor when thousands of units were required.
Technical design and cooperation
Dekpol’s structural design department handled the design of both buildings, using HELKA® and BOLDA® Column Shoes as well as HPM® and PPM® Anchor Bolts. Their teams, trained in Peikko Designer® and BOLTED CONNECTION software, carried out calculations and selected solutions independently, consulting Peikko only in unusual cases.
“The project timeline was critical for us. With over 15,000 anchor bolts required, choosing a supplier who could produce the full quantity on time was the most important. Thanks to Peikko, we were able to complete the project according to the demanding construction schedule,” emphasized Grudzień.
Partnership that delivers
The successful completion of the project confirmed the value of cooperation and shared goals. Skoraczewski summarized: “One of the most valuable lessons we took from this project is the confirmation of a simple but often hard-to-apply principle: cooperation and positive involvement lead to success.”
