When Peikko introduced TEBEA® at the BAU 2025 exhibition in Munich, the product addressed a specific need in the market: combining thermal separation and structural performance in balcony connections.
Developed as a thermal break element, TEBEA® minimizes thermal bridges while maintaining structural reliability, helping designers and contractors meet demanding energy standards. Several months after launch, the product has been installed on several projects, with orders coming in from multiple European markets.
From launch to installation: first projects completed
The first TEBEA® installations have been completed in Germany, Slovakia, and Poland, moving the product from concept to real-world application.
“TEBEA® has proven itself in a very short time as a well-engineered and practical solution,” says Seref Diler, Product Manager for TEBEA®. “Our goal was to combine installation efficiency, modular flexibility, and excellent thermal performance—and the first projects clearly confirm that.”
GALVANIHO, Bratislava: designed for performance
One of TEBEA®'s first large-scale applications is the GALVANIHO residential development in Bratislava, Slovakia.
The project includes three multi-story buildings with approximately 1,200 meters of balcony connections, primarily using TEBEA® CM and HM types for cantilevered balconies.
Although 80 mm insulation is standard in Slovakia, the client chose 120 mm TEBEA® elements for improved thermal efficiency. This decision was supported by Peikko’s local team, proven performance, and competitive pricing.
“Installation is smooth and efficient,” reports the project’s Site Manager Marcel Javorček. “The product is modular, light to handle, and well-labeled—making site logistics straightforward.”

Germany: meeting strict thermal codes
Germany has been a focus market for TEBEA®. Despite challenging conditions in the residential sector, demand has been consistent thanks to the product's compliance with thermal regulations and Peikko's local production setup.
“As a completely new addition to our portfolio, TEBEA® has attracted great interest,” says Ottmar Walter, Sales Manager at Peikko Germany. “Many long-standing customers are willing to try it—and feedback has been extremely positive.”
One early adopter was Markgraf, using TEBEA® for balcony connections in a residential project.
“The product was easy to install and worked perfectly in our process,” says the Construction Manager, Fadim Kurt-Akbulut. “It saved time, and the overall performance and Peikko’s service were impressive.”
TEBEA® holds a European Technical Assessment (ETA 23/0525), Passive House certification, and CE marking, meeting German standards for safety and energy efficiency.
Positive response from Poland: quality you can feel
In Poland, TEBEA®'s characteristics were recognized in early applications. In cooperation with Expert Beton, precast balconies for a large residential building were produced entirely with TEBEA®.
“When you hold TEBEA® in your hands, you immediately feel the quality,” says Andrzej Banasik, the Plant Manager at Expert Beton. “It’s solid, well-engineered, and clearly designed with precision. We’ll definitely use it again in future projects.”
Product development: balancing requirements
“We wanted a thermal break element that provides structural reliability but remains simple to produce and install,” says Jakub Mecar, R&D Engineer at Peikko. “Balancing load-bearing capacity, thermal efficiency, and usability was key—and achieving that balance defines TEBEA®’s design.”
TEBEA® integrates with Peikko's other solutions, including DELTABEAM®, MODIX®, PSB®, and ATLANT® columns. This compatibility provides consistent performance across interfaces and construction stages.
“From the start, we made sure TEBEA® meets the strictest European design and approval standards,” adds Stefan Carstens, R&D Engineer for Codes and Approvals. “The result is a product that combines functionality with reliability—giving customers full confidence in compliance.”
Digital tools and next steps
Peikko's R&D and software teams are developing tools to support design and construction workflows. A key development is dedicated balcony design software for TEBEA®, offering calculations and automated documentation to simplify planning and approval processes.
Several months after launch, TEBEA® has been installed in projects across Europe. Its combination of structural performance, thermal efficiency, and installation characteristics has generated feedback from customers and partners in multiple markets. With the ongoing development of digital design tools, TEBEA® continues to expand as part of Peikko's system portfolio for construction projects.
