TICCO® Wall Shoe — Bolted Connection for Timber Walls

TICCO® Wall Shoes create strong, hidden, cost-effective connections between timber wall and foundation, or between timber wall elements.

Peikko’s TICCO® Wall Shoes enable quick and easy wall installation, standardized connection with precalculated resistance, and, if required, rapid disassembly. A single TICCO 10 model meets all typical requirements for CLT timber wall connections.

TICCO® Wall Shoe axial-force-resisting connection is made using: steel TICCO® plates; rapid self-tapping, full-thread steel screws into the mass timber; HPM® Rebar Anchor Bolts or different anchoring rods in the concrete foundation or other elements; or M-thread glued-in rod for connection between timber wall (CLT) elements.

It is also possible to connect timber wall elements together with two opposing TICCO® Wall Shoes. Square AL washers and nuts are used to secure the anchor bolts and glued-in rod.

Each TICCO® plate is inserted into a recess in the timber wall, created using a template either in the factory or on site, and secured using the rapid screws. These inclined screws maximize strength by preventing anchorage in only a single timber layer along the grain.

Connections are finalized by filling the recess with fire-resistant insulation or mortar, and capping with a timber or fireboard cover.
