Today, the Peikko Group Corporation filed a legal action against the Anstar Oy company regarding the Anstar’s product called A-BEAM S-type. With this legal action, based on the valid patent and EU trademark, Peikko asks the Market Court to ban Anstar from manufacturing, marketing, and selling the product in question.
“Now, Peikko asks the Market Court of Finland for a verdict in this case, where Peikko clearly evaluates that their intellectual property rights have been violated. Every company that invests in their own product development and own intellectual property rights would act similarly. We have more than 30 employees working on Peikko’s product development team and the annual R&D costs have been between 5-6 MEUR during the previous years. It just cannot be accepted that one company develops a product, and the other one capitalizes on it – defending one’s rights is a normal practice”, comments Topi Paananen, CEO of the Peikko Group Corporation.
