In 1991, Peikko introduced their HPKM® Column Shoes, defining the game. These were lighter and stronger, and made the construction process four times faster. Now, thanks to our innovation, precast concrete frames are widely used around the world. Our column shoes also introduced the then novel idea of tight tolerances to the concrete industry. This changed the way that buildings were designed and gave architects the freedom to design more sophisticated and space-efficient structures.
Since then, bolted column connections have made life easier for designers, precasters and contractors. In some markets customers call it “the Peikko system”. That’s how we know we really are the industry standard.
