Peikko’s innovative CLAWTIE^® Connectors quickly and simply link the inner and outer precast concrete layers of sandwich panels.

Uniformly distributed CLAWTIE^® Connectors are embedded in the inner layer of the sandwich panel, and attached to the steel reinforcement mesh intersections of the outer layer.

Sandwich panels include a central thermal insulation slab, which can be easily installed between the CLAWTIE^® Connectors. The insulation slab fits tightly against the CLAWTIE^® Connectors without leaving gaps that require sealing.

CLAWTIE^® *Connectors are made of lightweight, corrosion-resistant glass fiber reinforced polymer. Their low thermal conductivity, particularly compared with steel ties, ensures superior insulation performance by minimizing the thermal bridges through the insulation slab.

Available in eight standard sizes, CLAWTIE^® Connectors can be installed in sandwich panels with insulation thicknesses of 50 mm to 300 mm and recommended dimensions of up to 3.3 m height and 7 m width.

When specifying CLAWTIE^®, the usually thicker, heavier inner concrete base layer (building interior) must allow sufficient embedment depth for the connectors.

With a design working life of 50 years, CLAWTIE^® Connectors are highly effective and reliable in sandwich panel construction and use.
